The J & P Motorcycles story begins in Griffith in 1975, when John & Peter (J & P) Dalla opened a small shop in the local railway yard and began selling Norton, Triumph and BMW motorcycles.

The following year, the duo relocated to a larger shop on Yambil Street that had previously housed their grandfather's Ford Tractor company. In 1976 (the era of the Z900), John also took on the Kawasaki franchise, but he was not on the main drag.

So, in 1978, he built a new shop on Banna Avenue and acquired the Suzuki franchise. Then came a lateral move into distributing John Deere lawn mowers with Kawasaki engines. Increased sales allowed for the development of an adjoining shop in 1988, but all the stairs got to him... 4 levels!

So, to bigger and better. In the year 2001, the company relocated to the other end of town into a brand new specialised showroom/workshop with enough space to display bikes and accessories for customers to browse in comfort. KTM was a welcome addition to the stable in 2004, reinforcing J & P's commitment to the off-road market.

Today, J & P Motorcycles is still serving the Riverina with passion and product knowledge.

We are committed to our community

Since our beginning, J & P Motorcycles has supported local motorcycle clubs and sponsored young riders. Toby Price, who grew up near Griffith and displayed exceptional talent from a young age, is the most notable rider we sponsored in his youth. It's been thrilling to watch his dominance of Enduro and Desert racing in Australia while riding for KTM.

We cheered as Toby overcame adversity and become the youngest rider ever to finish on the podium at the Dakar rally in 2015. Then, as a member of the KTM Red Bull factory team, he brought it home for KTM by winning the Dakar Rally in January 2016, where he also became the world's number one Desert racer.

On a long weekend in June 2016, he rode his KTM500EXC and drove a buggy to compete in the Finke Desert Race twice, with plane rides in between to get back to the starting line. He won the bikes and his buggy class and finished second overall in the Car/Buggy/Truck class.

John Dalla

John has spent the majority of his life riding motorcycles, having grown up road racing, and supporting many local junior and senior riders. He began his business career selling Norton, Triumph and BMW motorcycles and over the years has gained extensive knowledge and experience with Japanese motorcycles and KTM dirt bikes. He still enjoys riding south to watch the Superbikes and MotoGP races at Phillip Island and tuning into the AMA MX on FOX.

His favourite motorcycles are the Kawasaki Z900RS and the KTM890ADV R.

Admin, Finance & Insurance

Viki enjoys offering great Finance and Insurance deals to her customers. She learned to ride a motorcycle in her teens in Sydney and she has a teaching background.
